Office Assistant

The Wye and Usk Foundation requires a full time Office Assistant to work in their headquarters at Talgarth, near Brecon, helping the busy marketing, finance, operations, administration and farm advisory departments. This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the UK's biggest rivers trusts and to work in a busy, dynamic organisation that has a focus on delivery.

The role will be varied and the individual will be expected to be flexible and adaptable, depending on which of our departments requires support at any one time. The successful candidate's typical day could range from taking fishing enquiries and bookings over the phone, database work, supporting finance/accounting, to fundraising and I.T. support.

It is likely that the role could quickly develop further, taking on extra duties in areas such as volunteer management.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, motivated and have excellent written and oral communication skills. Competence in MS Office software (especially Word & Excel) is also required along with the ability to work under pressure. Answering queries from and taking bookings for anglers will be a major part of the role so any knowledge of angling or fish species is a distinct advantage, as is an interest in the environment. Full training will be provided in any bespoke in-house software.

In return we offer of a salary of £15,000-£18,720 depending on experience, plus life assurance and a pension option. Normal hours of work are 9am to 5:30pm (40 hours per week).

Those interested in applying for this position should send their CV, along with a covering letter by email to: admin@wyeuskfoundation.org or by post to: HR Department, Wye and Usk Foundation, Trefecca Road, Unit 4 Talgarth Business Park, Talgarth, Brecon LD3 0PQ

Closing date for application: 5pm, 13th January, 2017
