It is vital for the rivers’ future that as many schoolchildren as possible are enthused by them as early as possible.
Unfortunately, many youngsters do not have the opportunity to explore and experience the aquatic wildlife that lives close to them. They miss out on the benefits to themselves, their communities and the environment which come from connecting meaningfully to their local environment.
On Wednesday 5th June the Foundation launched its Freshwater Friends appeal.
Our target is to raise £15,000 which would enable 3,000 local schoolchildren to be inspired by rivers and to take positive, personal action for their benefit.
