Middle and lower Wye water temperatures reached 27 degrees yesterday and will be hotter today. These are lethal levels for salmon, trout and pike. Their only hope of survival is to move into the shallow oxygenated water and the tops of pools. If you canoe over them you will push them into the deeper water and kill them.
