We’re delighted that the first step towards delivering our Resilient Rivers initiative has been taken thanks to the hard work of the team at the Wye & Usk Foundation and support from Monmouthshire Council, NRW and Network Rail.
After the recent floods the team met with the incredibly resilient residents of Skenfrith and the hard working upland farmers who are facing so many challenges to keep their way of life alive. The Resilient Rivers team are dedicated to supporting both these communities, reducing flood risk all along the Monnow and delivering a host of other environmental benefits.
We believe this will show what can be done when we work together with natural systems using a truly systemic approach.
