Restore the rivers’ ecology and fish populations

Both Special Areas of Conservation (SAC) to achieve “unfavourable:recovering” conservation status 

-Systematically identify and understand limiting factors, address the causes or, if not possible, mitigate the impact.

– Monitor efficacy of work and revise actions accordingly.

The economics, and resultant decisions taken in the catchment, support river friendly land use and nature based solutions

Catchment buffered against effects of climate change

– Work with others to develop a framework that will allow for alignment of governmental and private funding streams with catchment scale recovery of environmental Regulatory and Supporting services.

– Educate/learn from landowners and managers around the opportunity this presents and how they can benefit.

WUF has a secure funding base

Reserves do not limit WUF’s actions and ability to deliver

– Deliver effective publicity to promote our actions that supports goal alignment with others

– Develop funding streams

–  Review existing fundraising development and deliver an adaptive plan.

– Deliver services for others, where our interests align, on a commercial basis.

Restoration efforts aligned on a catchment scale

Political boundaries no longer limit delivery

– Supporting catchment partnerships to deliver goal alignment.

– Deliver an Usk catchment market by 2026 and a Wye catchment market by 2028

– Create the conditions that will allow for regulatory alignment

– Ensure catchment efforts and funds are co-ordinated
